Do-It-Yourself Ground Walnut Meat (Four Cuisines)

Makes about 1 ½ cups.

INGREDIENTS

Walnut Meat Base

  • 1 cup Glenda’s Farmhouse walnuts
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 TBSP soy sauce
  • Salt
  • Black pepper

Mexican Cuisine

  • 1 TBSP cumin
  • ¾ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

Italian Cuisine

  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ¾ tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ tsp onion powder

Indian Cuisine

  • 2 tsp coriander
  • ¾ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp cumin
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • ¾ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder

American Cuisine

  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ¾ tsp onion powder
  • Salt
  • Pepper

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Add the walnuts, mushrooms, soy sauce, and seasonings to a food process.
  2. Pulse just until it reaches a crumbled texture.
  3. Taste for seasoning.
  4. Heat on the stove on low heat or in the microwave at 15 second intervals, stirring after each.
